I am very excited to be volunteering for the Quilts of Valor Foundation With the help of quilters around the world, the QOV Foundation has gifted over 110,000 to our American Heroes who are serving or have served our country. Over 700 quilts have been delivered just this very WEEK. That statistic alone is humbling and makes me very proud to know our service men and women are appreciated and loved by our country. This beautiful patriotic quilt top was made by a special women in Florida who shipped it to me to long arm quilt. It turned out so beautiful that I wanted to keep it, but I knew it was destined for a very special person who was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for my freedom.

This quilt was created for a young lady that is very special to me and my daughters! Our friend, Laura, was our babysitter in earlier years; and now, she is our friend and an amazing role model! I wanted to try a new kind of quilt with Laura – sewing a fabric journal of her journeys into many countries.
We decided to incorporate fabrics she had collected from the various countries; verses and special words; and pictures printed onto fabric that will always remind her of new friends in other lands! WE LOVE YOU LAURA!!!
