Friends, I will venture to say that all of us have a friend or loved one dealing with cancer.

Going through chemotherapy or radiation is a tough time for sure. Let me share a story of how one amazing woman has decided to deal with her time while she is confined to her home. This brave soul called and told me she is quilting night and day – could I help her finish the quilts on my long arm machine?! The answer is yes, yes and yes. She sent her sweet mother over to my house to deliver the 4 quilt tops. The mom said, “When she is quilting, she doesn’t have cancer…her mind escapes, her hands are busy, music is playing and she is happy!” Right as I was going to publish this post, I got a call to finish a butterfly quilt for a friend’s neighbor that was starting chemo. Another example of a way to help a friend with her therapy – show her love, compassion and a comfy quilt to take with her to her treatments!

Kudos and prayers for these strong and optimistic people! This is the kind of moxie that we all need!! #cancersux; #quiltshelp
